Volunteer for a specific position

Would you like to get involved helping asylum seekers but don’t know how? Volunteering for West Welcome Wagon means being able to offer your skills and experience to contribute to your community.

Have you only got a few spare hours here and there between existing commitments? We would love to help you find a way to contribute to assisting asylum seekers in Melbourne's west in your own time, utilising your skills.

Are you interested in finding out if volunteering at West Welcome Wagon is for you? Come to our next information session, at 7 pm on Thursday 8th February and we can answer any questions you have! To register your interest in the upcoming info session, email our Recruitment Coordinator at

We are currently seeking volunteers to fill these roles in our warehouse:  Adult Clothing Coordinator and Household Goods Coordinator. These roles require 6-8 hours per week to sort and pack donations.  If you are keen to showcase your organisation skills, these roles are the perfect platform for you!

We are also seeking a Media and Communications Manager. The Media and Communications Manager is responsible for maintaining the profile of, and support for West Welcome Wagon in the community, and for keeping existing volunteers engaged and informed of activities. They are assisted in this by a small team of volunteers.  Click here for more details.

Support WWW Events!

West Welcome Wagon is always on the look out for casual volunteers to help out with the many exciting events we run or participate in throughout the year (e.g. Bunnings Sausage Sizzles, Bake Sales, Community Events and Festivals). If you are keen to get involved with the work that WWW does, but are unable to commit to a regular role, this is a great way to get involved. If you're interested in learning more about joining our events team, please contact for more info!

Large Goods Delivery Crew required!

Want to get out and about with like minded people and help asylum seekers? We need more people to assist with our Large Goods delivery runs. The work involves picking up furniture donations, and delivering them to asylum seekers. You need to be fit, have a current Working With Children Check and be available for runs that usually take three hours. They are currently on Tuesdays or Thursdays between 10 and 1, but this is not locked in and could be at other times to suit crews regular availability. The van only requires a car licence. It is automatic and easy to drive, just a bit big. Not everyone needs to drive though as there will be two or three people on the crew.
