Material Goods
Would you like to donate good quality second-hand items to asylum seekers in Melbourne’s west? One of the core purposes of West Welcome Wagon is to provide material aid to our houses in need.
The most common items we collect are:
- Children’s items – bassinets, cots, clothing, prams, blankets and nappies (we have stringent safety requirements for children’s items.
- Children’s Clothing
- Adult Clothing – warm jackets and jumpers
- Home entertainment – radios, televisions, laptops
- Kitchen items – toasters, rice cookers, kettles, knife sets, cutlery
- Linen – pillows, blankets, sheet sets
- Large household items – washing machines, beds, fridges, dining tables, drawers and rugs
- Non-perishable food and toiletries
As the items that we give to clients are often the only one that they will have for some time, we require that all donations are in good working order with no tears, stains, chips or broken pieces.
If you have items that you would like to donate, please read our Donation Guidelines and email us at donate@westwelcomewagon.org.au with details of what you have to donate. Please DO NOT deliver items to our warehouse without first emailing us.
We currently only operate in the Western municipalities of Melbourne, covering Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong and Wyndham. Click here to see a map of the municipalities we cover. If you live outside these areas and are unable to deliver the item to our warehouse, we may not be able to accept it. A pick up for large goods such as fridges, washing machines, couches, beds, etc may be arranged if the item is located within the above municipalities. Please note as we rely on our wonderful volunteers to assist with large goods runs we may take 1-4 weeks before we are able to pick up. If you have a date you require the items to be picked up, please ensure you let us know when you email with details of your donation.
